"My" little girl, all grown up and married!

Shemila Natalia Ebanks was only four years old when I first met her and she became my little girl. She was attached to my hip a lot. She went with me everywhere. She has always been beautiful and sweet and I loved her dearly from the first moments when I got to know her. I met her because her brother Shawn and I went to school together and we became very good friends and I then in turn became a friend to the whole family.
Shemila is no longer a little girl, but has grown up into a beautiful, smart, sweet as ever, Christian woman. She has met the love of her life and I couldn't be happier for her. She married a really great guy who is from a great family. She has less than one year left and will become an RN. Her and her husband Brad are very involved with their church and Brad is the youth pastor there.
Steve and I left on Friday morning, headed for Miami, took a flight from there to Atlanta and then a second plane from Atlanta to Greenville/Spartanburg airport in South Carolina. I could definitely do without the flying. Lots of turbulence and gusty wind. Poor Steve, I had a death grip on his arm and leg. We arrived in the early afternoon and met up with Shawn and his brother Steven for lunch and some shopping. That night we went and watched the rehearsal and then went to the rehearsal dinner.
Saturday, Steve and I enjoyed sleeping in, then spending a lazy, relaxing day going out for breakfast, going to the mall and just taking it easy until late afternoon when it was time to go to the wedding and reception. It was a beautiful, very meaningful wedding. Brad sang a song to Shemila and he had an awesome voice and poor Shemila couldn't stop crying which in turn sent me and her Mom crying.
After that Steve and I, Shawn and his wife Carli and their little 4 year old boy, Shawn's brother Steven and his Dad went to see the movie Cars. It is a cute movie that I was looking forward to taking Bryce to, but since he had gone to it earlier in the day with his Uncle Rick, Aunt Mary, and several of his cousins, we decided to go ahead and watch it ourselves. Since Shawn, Steven and their Dad Ken and I are all big NASCAR fans we really liked it.
The next morning Steve and I slept in again and then headed for the airport a little bit later for a long day of traveling. It was so good to walk into our home again and see our two precious little sleeping boys, but especially good the next morning to have them wake up and give them big hugs and kisses.
