My wonderful Father and Papa to my children

My Dad of 33+ years is one of the most giving and selfless men I know. He has given his life to the Lord's work and to supporting his family. He has been a loyal husband to my Mom, has helped countless people in so many ways, has the most forgiving heart and always is the better man in situations, even when people have done him wrong. I have so much respect and love for my Dad. One of the memories that is so embedded in my mind, is morning after morning while growing up, as I came out for breakfast, there would be my Dad on his knees, with his Bible laying there beside him and I knew that he would be praying just for me. That is a really big example to lay before your children and it is something that has always meant alot to us.
If I ever needed anything, I know without a doubt I could call my Dad and he would do everything he could to help me with that situation. It isn't often that I have seen my Dad cry, but since Connor has been born, I have seen him break down a couple times. Partly for Connor, but also because he saw his baby girl struggling through a hard time and he was feeling my hurt and pain. I have never had to doubt my Dad's love or that he was praying for me.
The other thing that just amazes me and makes me feel so much pride for my Dad is that without a question or a doubt, he has taken in another daughter, son-in-law and four other grandchildren that have been adopted into our lives and treats them the same as all the rest of us. I think that is such a generous and incredible thing to do and I am so glad that we all have been blessed to have the Shillington family join our home. They blend so well with us and we have a great time with them.
He is also a great Papa to his 12 grandkids and they all love him dearly. He always takes time to love on all of them and is constantly generous and paying for times where we make lots of memories together. I have had so many people comment that they love to watch my Dad at church with one grandchild or another on his lap, because they can see how much he loves them and they him.
Thank you Daddy for being a wonderful husband to my Mom, a Father to us girls, a Father-in-law to your four boys and a great Papa to your grandchildren and a man who strives to live his life for God and for being such a generous and noble man. I love you!
