We'll see you around Brady!!!

You all will remember that we got our little dog Brady several months ago, when he was just a cute little pup. Well Brady moved to a house down the road on Saturday and I think he believes he has died and gone straight to Heaven.
I believe my sister Mary describes Brady as being a dog who is part kangaroo on steroids with A.D.D. and needs to be put on Ritalin. He can jump like nothing you have ever seen and is very hyper most of the time and he just wasn't working for this family. Plus, ever since we got him, Steve has been having a lot of problems with nose infections and his nose burns and he has headaches and we became more convinced as time went on that he had an allergy to Brady, since when he pet him or was around the area where he sleeps, etc. his nose would burn like fire. After too many things kept accumalating as to why Brady wasn't working for this family, Bryce and I finally sat down for the talk on Saturday morning. Oh the tears that flowed and the sobs that shook his body, which then in turn brought tears to both his Daddy and my eyes. We really felt bad for Bryce.
After coming to the conclusion and having had the talk, I was ready to have Brady gone A.S.A.P. so as not to prolong the inevitable. My sister Brenda who is definitely the animal person in the family, having I don't know how many animals in and out of her home over the last several years, called and offered her support by going with me to take Brady to a "no kill shelter" that afternoon. She felt strongly that Brady would have no problem being adopted out as he is cute as a button and just needs someone who could give him their undivided attention and a lot of love and some training and discipline.
About an hour or so before we were going to leave, I remembered a little German lady who lives several houses down and how she lives alone and always was talking about how adorable Brady was and how she wanted to get a dog someday, but never had found the right dog, etc. I ran outside and asked Steve to keep an eye on the kids and headed to her house. She was outside working in her yard and I began with how we couldn't keep Brady for these reasons and was upfront and honest with her about everything. He has all his shots and was just groomed, very hyper, needs more attention than we have been giving, etc. Well, when I told her we had to get him removed from our home that day and that I was considering taking him to a shelter, I got read the riot act up one side and down the other. (Did I mention she is German? A very sweet lady, but if she has something on her mind, it comes out her mouth, and she has no qualms about telling anyone and everyone how she feels about things, especially if it surounds an animal. A huge animal lover to say the least.) She followed me back home and after Brady greeted her with his usual kangaroo jumps, his little teeth nips and his very wet kisses, she was sold.
We see Brady daily. He has a brand new collar, brand new leash. Gets bathed every other day. The kennel is gone that he slept in at night and he now sleeps in bed with the lady. He gets walked about a dozen times a day and is able to be the neighborhood social dog he was born to be. He loves all people, whether young or old and wants to greet them all. He gets every toy and treat she finds in the animal supermarket known as Petco. When she is walking him, he still trys to come to his first home. If he sees us in the yard he goes berserk until he can get lots of petting and loving from us, but he seems extremely happy with his new residence. Bryce is welcome at any time of the day to come see him and we usually still see Brady daily out and about. There were no cons in this situation, only pros. My garage is once more a very clean, no doggy smelling garage. We don't have to spend any more money on this dog. He is so much happier. We are so much happier. A little old lady has got her baby and she says she feels healthier and happier since getting him. (She is walking more, thus getting exercise, thus making her feel heathier. She is being more social now and says she laughs at Brady all the time and has someone to cuddle with at night, thus making her happier.) Bryce still gets to see Brady whenever he wants and hasn't missed having him here one bit. In this situation, everyone wins!!
