Bryce's night out at the fair, and Connor discovering power tools.

Last night we left Connor with wonderful Grandma and Papa around 4:30pm, and Steve and I took Bryce and headed for the Martin County Fair. It was kid day, so all kids get in for $1.00 and then you purchase a riding bracelet for $20. and they can ride all the rides they want, except there are a couple exceptions, and they cost more. Like there is a mechanical bull, a bungee jumping thing and one or two other things that you have to pay an extra $5.00 for. Bryce was dying to do the bungee jumping thing-a-ma-bob, (no, you probably won't find that word in Webster's dictionary, but for a long time my family knows I have my own dictionary. Anyway, I digress..), well I wasn't going to spend an extra $5.00 for this thing, but the night before we went to the fair, he received a visit from his Grandma and she gave him a Valentine's Day card with a $5.00 bill in it and she told him he could spend it at the fair the following night. His eyes lit up and he whirled around and said "Mom, now I can do the jumping thing." So last night, as soon as we got to the fair, that is the first thing we had to do. The guy was so busy taking care of other kids, that Bryce got an extra long time to jump and he was very thrilled.
Bryce then did a bunch of other rides and excursions through a couple fun houses, etc. We toured the animal area and watched pigs (Wilbur's as Bryce called them)running in circle's, with one being obstinate and grunting and snorting (like a stuck pig. Ha, I couldn't resist.) I stood around and watched Bryce have fun, while Steve decided to sample a smorgasboard of fair foods (YUCK!) and after about the third or fourth one, decided he had better stop eating them as his stomach was revolting. Bryce had a great time, but by about 8pm the people and atmosphere starts to turn unruly, so we had all had enough by then and headed home.
The next few pictures was of today. Steve went to hang my new picture he had bought me and the sound of the powerdrill/screwdriver, really was bothering Connor and making him scared. So Steve knelt down and let Connor examine it and then slowly started to push the trigger so Connor could see it wasn't scary. Connor watched how Steve did it and Steve then put Connor's finger on the trigger and the first time Connor pushed it and made it go, his eyes lit up and he got so excited. He would pull the trigger, hear the sound and watch it go and then let go and start jumping up and down, flapping his arms, so excited. It was very cute to watch and the smile that he had on his face was too cute. When he made it go, the fear was now gone. It is especially fun watching as Connor figures things out, because it is almost like you can see the little lightbulbs going on and he really puts everything he has into figuring things out.
No doubt about it, we have two wonderful little boys. Very different, both great in their own ways, and we can't imagine our lives without them. They are our two favorite Valentine's that we love so very much!
