Our walk for March of Babies and a special video at the end.

This morning, our team, Team Connor, arrived somewhere between 7-7:30 at Memorial Park in Downtown Stuart. The walk was supposed to start promptly at 8 am, but everyone needed to arrive early to get their pictures taken, get a drink or a small bite to eat, etc. After getting our group together, we had a group picture taken up on the stage by the organization, and then we moved to a different location so we could get our own group photo's.

From left to right...Tara Hydes, Liz Estes, Talena Addison-Howard, myself, Brenda Hendershot, Tracy Bowen, Rebekah Boissevain, Jan Hobbs, Bryce and Connor.
Bryce was pretty happy to see this jumping house and spent as much time in it as he could. Once the women and Connor took off on a walk, Bryce and Daddy went to Denny's to get some breakfast. When we returned on our walk, I still found Bryce in it and thought he had been in there the entire time, which would have made him happy, but he got pancakes and ice cream (what a mixture) instead.
Connor was a pure angel. I took a couple of his favorite noisy toys and put them beside him, and he was pure gold the whole time. He didn't try to get out once and never complained. He loves being outside anyway, and loves to ride in this buggy, so he was one happy boy.
Just hanging out waiting for things to get underway.
Part of the crowd getting "pumped up" by the Jazzercise instructor. Not many people followed her moves.
The walk is now getting underway. Here goes our team.
For part of the way, people could walk on either the sidewalk or the street.
Here goes team Connor........
and here comes Team Connor.
Aunt Brenda took turns pushing Connor for me, she took over especially when I wanted to get some pictures. Thanks Bernie!
Connor just hanging out. He was set! He had snacks, drinks, toys and was pushed the whole way.
Brenda took over the camera for me for a little while. So Connor and I are right in the middle of our team here. Tara, Jan and Tracy are leading the pack, then Connor and I, with Liz, Rebekah and Talena behind us.
Connor and I have spent a lot of time together like this. This buggy was a gift to Connor from his cousin Scott Fay, when he finally came home from the hospital after those long first two months. We have used it a LOT and it is wonderful!! Thanks Scott!
We had a couple before pictures, and here is the after picture. We made it four miles without any problem. We made it in one hour and fifteen minutes.(Although some of us are seriously doubting it was really four true miles, and think they were being generous, but still we made it however long it was).
Connor loves his "Ms. Tara". He never fails to give her hugs.
Connor, Mommy is so happy that we did this together and with the help and support of our families and friends. We have been through a lot together, you and me, and I am glad we took these first steps in helping other families who are going through or who are going to be going through some of the stuff we have gone through. Mommy is so proud of the little boy you are and your fighting spirit. I cannot imagine my life without you and feel blessed that God chose me to be your Mommy! I love you!

Connors poor Aunt Mary, wanted to participate in this walk so bad and ended up being the one who raised the most money, thanks to her generous employer, the Fishers that she has worked with for years. Mary came down with bronchitis, fever, chills and has just felt simply rotten most of the week. Because she couldn't be there, she has spent a lot of time and energy she probably doesn't really have over the last several days, and created this very touching and incredible montage of Connor's life. You can view it my clicking on the link below, make sure your volume is turned on, because the song is not only touching, but it is perfect for this montage and our life:

Mary, you have no idea how much this video means to me and I will cherish it forever. Yes, I had to definitely get the tissues. The song was perfect and I really appreciate all the time you put into putting it together. It is beautiful! We missed you today and I am sorry you missed it. Hope you get better really fast.

To all those that walked with me and helped our team in over surpassing our goal...a huge thank you!! Thank you for being such great friends and I will never forget what you did today.

To all those that gave so kindly and generously towards our goal and to our team...thank you, thank you, thank you!!! It means so much and I really appreciate it. You all are the best!

Hey Charlene: I listen to Midday Connection on Moody Radio (Internet) quite a bit. This program about Special Needs children caught my attention since I work in a Special Ed classroom. I thought you might want to hear it too. In case the link does not work, it can be found at Midday Connection in the past programs on March 11. http://www.moodyradio.org/brd_programarchive.aspx?id=11156
