I think I told you previously on another blog, that when Steve get's really busy, and he feels like he hasn't been able to spend time with Bryce, he will call me up and ask if we have plans for the following evening, and if not, will go into Bryce's room and tell him that he is going to spend the following evening playing with just him. (He spends time with Connor too, but it isn't on the same level. Connor is just happy if Daddy lays down on the floor for five minutes and lets him crawl all over him) I love that about him, and that is what he did Wednesday. He got home, asked if we had plans for Thursday night, I replied no and he went into where Bryce was playing and said the words that Bryce loves to hear..."Bryce, how about tomorrow night Daddy takes you to Chuck E. Cheeses?" Bryce's eyes light up and he says "Yeah!!"Let me explain. Steve's favorite place is by far not Chuck E. Cheese, but he knows that Bryce loves it, so once in awhile he will make it a point to take him there. Thursday nights are definitely not as bad as the weekend, so that helps somewhat. Steve's biggest complaint about Chuck's place is that it is noisy, sometimes full of screaming, bratty kids, and is crowded.
Last night, I needed to do some shopping at Target, so Connor and I rode along with the other two, dropped them off at Chuck E. Cheeses and Connor and I proceeded on to Target to just take our time and shop and look around. After we were done spending our small fortune, we headed back to the boys. Connor was NOT crazy about the noise of the place at all, and I had to sing in his ear for quite awhile to get him to calm down. He finally wanted down and started to look for ways to escape the noise.
Bryce was especially happy, because he ran into one of the little boys he went to school with all last year, Kyle, and they had a great time playing the games together and were so glad to see each other. Kyle was one of the nicest boys in his class and Bryce really liked him.
I am still trying to figure out who had more fun last night, Bryce or Steve. Steve found a challenging and fun basketball game that he was determined to beat and he did quite well. When we left, Steve said, I actually didn't have too bad of a time. I think the place is starting to grow on him.
(The picture, is a group of pictures that Bryce "posed" for on one of the little rides there that takes your picture at the end)
