Connor is loving his new bed and it is so cute to watch him with the whole thing. Last night, I got him ready for bed on the floor in his room. He was just laying there nice and content. I stood up and started to prepare his bed, pulling back the quilt, removing the pillows, etc. I turned around and he had a huge smile on his face. When I walked over to turn on his music, he crawled as fast as he could onto his bed, settled down on his pillow and just lay there with a big smile on his face and let out a big sigh. You couldn't find anyone more content and comfy.
I turned out the light and leaned over his little net side rail and prayed in his ear and gave him kisses and he just burrowed down into his pillow and never moved. Steve went to check on him about 10 minutes later and he had turned around with his head at the other end of the bed, but was fast asleep and slept all night and even slept in until 8am. He is usually up around 7am. He got up and Steve went in to give him his sippy cup of milk and his Cheerios and when Connor saw Steve he started hurrying back to bed. I guess he thought he was going to be in trouble. Steve just said "It's alright Connor, you can play, that's a good boy" and he just smiled really big and went back to playing with his toys.
This step has already seemed to make a difference with him on some of his independence and just makes him seem older and more advanced. I kind of waffle between feeling proud and happy because he is advancing like any other kid his age in some ways, and feeling kind of sad that the baby stage is getting farther and farther behind us.
It is chilly here this morning and I just thought he looked too cute in his little camo/fall looking outfit, and I just had to take this picture.
We have a lot of things coming up this week. Thursday is Bryce's 6th birthday and we will be all decked out in everything Power Rangers. I need to go shopping for all the birthday gifts and other celebratory fixings. Friday night is a Fall party for the MOMS group, with the kids wearing their costumes and getting candy, pizza and other junk food. Then Saturday is Alex's birthday celebration with his friends, but I have to do the cake. Saturday afternoon is another Fall party with Bryce's little Junior Church. So this will be a full week. I just am relieved that the transition for Connor from the crib to his little bed went way better than I expected.
