A full day of birthday celebrations, first at school.....

Bryce had a full day of birthday wishes and celebrations. I found him a nice blue ribbon (like the kind you get awarded at an awards ceremony) that said Birthday Boy on it, and he wore that all day. So immediately after getting out of the van at school I saw kids and teachers noticing the ribbon and wishing him a happy birthday and the grin on his face was huge.
The Senior class has started a program called Birthday Grams and you can pay them like $10. and they will deliver a nice big mylar balloon and a cup of candy and several of them come into the classroom at some point of the day and sing to him. Then at lunch the whole cafeteria sang to him. One of the secretary's at the school has a puppet and she comes in and "they" sing to him. Then around 1:30, I arrived with the big balloons you see in the picture with a baggie of goodies attached, like silly straws, a pencil, a ball that has little suction cups so it will stick to things, and a baggie of M-n-M's, with small cups of vanilla ice cream and spoons, chocolate chip cookies and little bottles of water, with napkins. The theme for that party was everything balloons. It was a huge hit with all the kids and Bryce just kept saying "Aw, thanks Mom, this is really nice." It was cute and he sounded so big and it was like he knew I had put a lot of time and effort into it. Then later, he had more celebrations awaiting him...

and his big Power Ranger birthday at home that night.

For his regular birthday party with all his family and friend Edward Hoffpauir, (I told him besides family he could choose one friend to invite. Edward sits beside Bryce in Kindergarten and is one of my favorite picks for Bryce to have for a friend, because he is such a nice kid with excellent manners.) Bryce had requested months ago that he wanted it to be all about Power Rangers, but specifically the Red Power Ranger. I had bought him the costume months ago and had it hidden until last night. Then bought a few of the plates, napkins, etc and made him the red Power Ranger cake. Had some yummy food for supper and a big stack of presents, and one little six year old is one happy kid.
Of course he didn't want to go to bed last night, because he had a bunch of new toys to play with and today he didn't want to go to school, and for the first time wasn't super keen on going to the Huff's after school (supposed to have a Fall party there today at 3:30pm) because he just wanted to come home to play. I assured him that he will have plenty of time to play with them this weekend and beyond and he was very happy to know that Michael will be coming to spend hours playing on Saturday.
Bryce is a great kid and we can't believe he is 6!!! He is not only cute, sweet, lovable, sensitive and kind, but smart, a quick learner with a great sense of humor who loves to have fun, tease and "fight" with his Daddy. He is loving school and learning. Is a sweet and protective older brother and cousin. He definitely has a mischevious side to him and is by far not a perfect kid and has to be disciplined like any other kid, but overall we think he is a great kid.
It was fun making Bryce's birthday special for him. We love you bunches, buddy!!
