The couples retreat was great.....

This weekend was the YAMS couples retreat held at Kenny and Jan Hobb's house. It is such a perfect place for it. We start around 7pm on Friday night and it ends on Sunday around 2 or 3 in the afternoon. All 6 bedrooms are full of one couple each, plus three campers were brought in with Steve and I staying in ours and two couples each staying in the other two and several other couples come for the day activities and go to their own homes to sleep. This year we had between 30-40 people there at any given time.
Friday night everyone meets for a big Taco bar supper and then a devotional afterwards. Saturday morning starts breakfast with everyone kind of doing their own thing, around 8. The first and second session's were between 10-12. Then at noon we have croissants with turkey, ham cheese and all the fixings. Between 1-4 everyone can do their own thing. Some take naps, some just sit and talk, and I (as you can see from the picture above) gave pedicures. I think this year I did about 4 women and I did a french, so it took even longer.
There is another session around 4:30 and then by 7 we have a yummy dinner fixed by Carrabbas brought in. Later we played two games, Couplez and Pictionary. Couplez was interesting butPictionary was down right HILARIOUS. You can read more on Mary's blog, but between Steve trying to draw a penguin (he is normally a good artist, but his penguin was the funniest thing we had ever seen) and Debbie Holden trying to do a mini skirt, it made for a lot of laughs not just that night, but for the remaining time of the retreat.
Sunday morning was another breasfast starting around 9am and then the Sunday morning church service begins around 10am and then a big ham, potato, green beans, corn and rolls dinner finishes us out.
The sessions were very good and made for a lot of good thinking, some hilarious comments at times and other times people baring their souls. It was a great time of relaxation, reconnecting, making memories and refueling, so to speak.

but it was great to be back home with our two big boys too.
This was a picture taken of our two adorable little boys last night before we walked out the door for church. They looked so cute in their red, white and blue little outfits (there was a political service and rally concerning three conservative, Republican candidates at church and aftewards in the dining hall, so everyone was in the American themed mode.) and they both were just all grins, I couldn't resist a picture.
Steve and I had a great weekend away, but it was great to be back home with our little lovebugs afterward and they both gave lots of hugs back. Grandma and Papa take such good care of them when we are away, but there is nothing like Daddy and Mommy.
