Friday morning started with "take your Mom to school day." It was so cute to watch what our kids do at pre-school every day for the three hours they are there. I was able to stay for about an hour before relieving Brenda of her babysitting duties of Connor.
Each child has roles to play for that day and Bryce was the song leader. The picture is of him leading the songs. The kids were thrilled with having their Mommy's there to show every little thing they did or had. I really enjoyed seeing first hand how much he has learned and how well the teacher does at keeping the kids in line, but how much fun they have also. I can't believe that only four more days and Bryce will officially be a Kindergarten student when school begins next year. I am looking forward to spending a lot of time with him this summer doing a wide variety of fun things to make lots of great memories.
Friday night was the college and high school graduation. It was a long service due to the fact that this year there were 2 Valadectorian's (sp?) for both High School and College, so we had to go through those extra speeches, plus a long list of scholarships had to be mentioned, etc. They had a reception for all of the graduates in the cafeteria afterwards, which we stopped in at for a few minutes, but then because Rick, Mary, Steve or I had not had supper we headed out for Chili's for a late night supper. We had a good time eating, talking and laughing.
then Saturday and Sunday.....
Saturday was BEAUTIFUL! Hardly a cloud in the sky, nice and warm, the waters were calm and we had such a great time in the boat. Before we even left the dock we watched some dolphins swim by, and once at the sandbar, Tonya captured a jellyfish on the paddle of a game she was playing with one of the kids. Like I said we have six kids from the ages 5-10 years old. Tonya (Mydock) Lynds twins, Morgan and Jordan, and then there is Bryce of course and then the other two girls and one boy are Tonya's friend, Shane's kids. All five kids are very sweet and we had a great time playing with them and hanging out on the sandbar, getting some sun, getting some exercise, eating our lunch, etc. Bryce thought it was so cool that we had 5 other kids on our boat. As always we hated seeing it come to an end.
That night there was a college graduation party at Rick and Mary's for a friend of all of ours and one of the best babysitters around, Kimberly Brown.
Sunday was another gorgeous day, and after Sunday School and church we came home with just the four of us and had a delicious lunch of filet mignon on the grill, baked potato's, corn and rolls. YUM!! Then there was church again that night and a high school graduation party for Brittany Shillington afterwards.
So needless to say, there was not a lack of things to do this weekend. It was fun, but now it's time to get some things done. I'm glad we got to spend so much time in the boat, because that is probably going to be it for a little while as the next couple weeks Steve is going to be helping do some building at our church's "land" and then the month of June is one trip after another. We have a lot to look forward to.
