Rochenda (Cancio) Crane and I have been friends since forever ago. We became friends in elementary and even though she was a few years younger than I, she was always more mature for her age and she hung out with people older than her age. We have lots and lots of memories together and no matter how long it has been that we don't see each other or talk, when we get back together again it is as if no time has passed at all.
Rochenda met and married Brent Crane several years ago. We would have loved to have gone to their wedding in Idaho about 3+ years ago, but I was either really pregnant with Connor or had just had him and was all into the medical issues surrounding him so we were unable to go. When we first met Brent it was if he had been our friend forever too. He and Steve immediately hit if off and there is never a pause in their conversations, just like it is with Rochenda and I.
Brent and Rochenda usually come down to visit 2 or 3 times a year and as soon as they purchase their tickets we get an email asking which night is best to go out for dinner. They say it is one of the highlights of their trip and we definitely feel it is a highlight of our week when we get to go out with them.
Last night we took them to the River House, which they had not been to before, and had such a great time talking, enjoying the yummy food, the great ambience and just taking our time in a beautiful restaurant. After that we went and tried to walk off some of the food at the Gardens Mall.
Brent was recently voted in as a Representative for the State of Idaho. Rochenda worked for Brent's father who is the Treasurer of the State of Idaho until she married Brent and then transfered to another division for work since you are unable to work for a relative and then this past week was her last day at work. Rochenda is going to be able to stay home for a change, will be able to get many projects needing done at home, be on a committee or two in the political realm and someday, Lord willing, they want to to start their own family. Rochenda and Brent will be great parents and are just great people all the way around.
It was great to go out and spend time with them once again and we look forward to their visit in June when we can take them out on the boat again and this time hopefully a trek down the intracoastal to Jetty's by boat.
We love you all bunches, Brent and Rochenda, and wish you a very Merry Christmas and many blessings for your New Year!
