After Steve worked a few hours this Saturday morning, and I got some regular things done around the house, it was time to do something fun with the kids.
Steve had discovered a new little park and beach down on the south side of Jupiter Island, so we took the boys there for awhile. Connor was fearless. Heading straight into the rolling waves, not having a clue about what they can do to a little guy. He didn't care that the water was extremely cold or that the wind blowing was making things even colder. He just wanted to be in the water. His strong and patient Daddy held on to his hand, making sure that he didn't get swept away. Sometimes the water would come up and get him right in the face and he would just laugh. When his Daddy would lift him straight up in the air because he thought a wave was going to be especially rough and high, Connor thought that was the greatest. It was too cute to watch.
Bryce and I were content to stay out of the cold water and we sat and played in the sand and watched Steve and Connor get wet. When the sun went behind a bunch of clouds and the wind kicked up, we all got cold and realized, although the time was short, we had better head home.
I love the times when we can do things together as a family. The memories we create and the fun and happiness you see on the kids faces is worth everything it takes to create those memories.
Tonight we took our visiting Uncle Clarence to dinner. He is a retired Lt. Colonel who has been through three wars and to count, has visited or lived in around 35 countries and has some extremely interesting stories to tell. Bryce and Connor went and visited their Grandma and Papa. Something they always love to do. They had a delicious Pancake supper. A regular Saturday tradition when I was growing up. Then Grandma and Papa took them on a long golf cart ride and they went to see some pretty waterfalls that they have fun playing around.
So today was a nice Saturday and a good time was had by all.
