What a difference a couple days can make.

Although we were planning on attending the YAMS camping weekend, the incident with Connor definitely changed our plans. Since Connor and I didn't get home from the hospital in Miami until around 9ish on Friday night, there was no way that I could get prepared for four people to go camping all day Saturday and part of the day Sunday. So instead we decided to go out for part of the day on Saturday.
We slept in until around 8am and then got ready and loaded up what we would need for the day. We went for a Saturday morning breakfast/brunch at Cracker Barrell and then got to the church land around noon.
Many of the YAMS had not seen us since the whole incident so we were welcomed with many hugs and questions and Connor was given a lot of attention. Although he never left my sight for the day, except for while he took a nap in my Mom and Dad's camper, I think we had a lot of help with people keeping their eyes on him.
It was a fun several hours. Connor and I went on a horseback ride. Bryce rode in a few circle's by himself. A few girls played a nice relaxing game of Scrabble and a few rounds of Scattergories. I got to do one of my favorite things and that was to target shoot with a Ruger Pistol. I love the challenge of shooting a gun and hitting my target. My sister Mary dubbed me Annie Oakley. Steve did some skeet shooting with a rifle (and hit almost everyone of the skeets) and rode a four wheeler for quite awhile.
Bryce had fun just playing in the dirt and with lots of toys with lots of kids and was filthy dirty by the time we left. He was one worn out kid and fell asleep before reaching home. Connor just spent his time wandering around, playing with a wheel here or a ball there and being followed by either his Daddy or Mommy.
Their was good food, lots of fun, a great time to spend with friends, and by the time we got home that night we were glad we got to sleep in our own beds instead of a thin mattress in a pop-up camper.
