Since Steve got done working a little early and Tuesday night seems like it is going to be the only free night this week, we decided to go and do something fun and different with the kids. We headed south to West Palm Beach to Clematis Street. It was a beautiful night and we didn't tell Bryce where we were headed, but he knew it had something to do with the water since Mommy had him put on his swimming shorts. As soon as he saw the jumping fountains he got excited and was very anxious to get in them right away. These things aren't your typical fountains. They go from barely bubbling to shooting up around 7 feet high and are powerful. They go on very erratic cycle's so you never know when they are going to go full force. Bryce could handle it, but after watching for a few moments, I realized I didn't feel comfortable with letting Connor try them.
While Bryce played in the water, Connor and I settled into a chair to watch. Connor was amused by the sights and the sounds of everything going on around him and after watching his brother do some karate chops to the water shooting up around him, decided he was quite funny and belly laughed at him for quite some time.
The smells of the surrounding restaurants were more than Steve could bear, so he wandered off after awhile and came back with a box that held several slices of pizza with various toppings. Steve and I ate pizza, while I sat and fed Connor his peanut butter sandwhich with banana's and Bryce would come running up every once in awhile to take a bite or two of pizza before running back into the water. He found a couple little boy's his age to play with and they had a great time.
After the sun went down all the streets and fountains are lit up with different colors of lights and it makes for a very pretty scene. But since the sun went down, the warmth went with it and soon a very cold and chattering little boy had had enough and wanted to go home.
