Last Thursday, I had received a call from one of my friends, Jackie Shamber, who had seen an announcement at her dog's groomers, stating that a family was wanting to give away their 8 month old Lhasapoo, which is a cross between a Lhasa apso and a poodle. These dogs are very expensive and since we were wanting a dog, this seemed to be a great opportunity. I immediately called the groomer's and got the information and called the owner's. No answer. I left a message.
I proceeded to call the owners several times that day, the following day and the day after that. The groomer's had informed me the woman had recently had a baby and was home all day, so couldn't understand why she wasn't answering my calls or returning the many I put into her. I finally just figured that either the women had either found someone to take the dog or had decided to keep her themselves.
There is one area where I have no patience and that is, once I get something in my head, like getting a dog, well I want to get the dog...now! It is on my brain, we have made a decision to get a dog, so I want to get it done. So by Saturday afternoon I looked online at our local newspapers classified and found several Lhasapoo's, Shitzpoo's and Cockerpoo's and started making phone call's. From my previous blog you see we found the perfect dog for our family and we love him.
Tuesday morning, guess who I received a phone call from? That's right, the lady with the Lhasapoo. She was ready to finally give up the dog. She sounded ernest and said it had to be done while her daughter was in school. Could I come soon? After calling her dozens of times and bugging her (even though it was her problem for not answering or calling me back) I didn't have the heart to tell her I had already found another dog.
I called my sister Brenda. They had really liked our dog Brady and Jessica, my niece, really wanted another dog. They had to put their dog to sleep a few months ago and had had her for 13 years. Brenda asked me to go get the dog and if she didn't work out for them, they would make sure to find her a good home.
I brought 8 month old, Maggie, (as pictured above) to their house, food, dog dishes, leash, collar, kennell, toys and all (all for free) and it didn't take them all long to fall in love. She is smart, sweet, already housebroken and a perfect fit for them.
All three of us sister's now have the perfect dog to fit our families. So maybe someday Maggie, Tiffany and Brady will become good friends.
